Here I
just share a little experience why I migrated to Backbox. a little story from
me, a month back initially I use Kali Linux which he said the OS is quite tough
in penetration. But after I use Kali Linux the problems I got quite a lot. the
first one when the installation is complete can not get into the desktop there
is a sad computer image again. secondly when distribution upgrades erupted
again until my job was delayed 2 days because of this. if in the story mah
nyesek gan hahaha ...
But the point is not like that. Every Linux OS has its
own advantages and disadvantages. The bottom line depends on taste, hardware
specifications respectively. Here I only share experiences while using
"Linux". Until now I use Linux Backbox, and until now also I have not
found a problem like yesterday. For those who want to try Backbox Linux can
agan try in Virtualbox, Live USB or Live CD as experiment material

Advantages :
- Desktop
Environtment uses XFCE which is lighter than other desktop Environtment
such as GNOME, MATE, and UNITY.
- Use of RAM
quite a bit.
- Bugs in
the OS are relatively small.
- Anonymity
tools installed in the OS.
- There are
testing penetration tools installed in the OS, such as Metasploit, Setoolkit,
SQLMap, Wifite, etc.
- Open
Source.
- This OS is
a derivative of Ubuntu / Debian. So everything about Debian and Ubuntu can
we apply in the Backbox.
- Very infrequently infected with the virus.
Deficiency :
- The
desktop permissions are in the user. Any user who wants to install, open,
and edit desktop apps must use root access first.
- Sometimes
the linux users who are just laugh typing any commands that can damage the
operating system. for example a command like this "rm -rf /" or
something. From this deficiency is very influential once the new users
learn to use Linux.
- Not
suitable for gaming computers. More precisely Linux Backbox is used for
penetration test, if people say the OS hell for a hacker.
- Desktop types are less attractive. Although the desktop is fairly light, but the display is less attractive.
